exon – מילון אנגלי-אנגלי
Exon
An
exon is any part of a
gene that will become a part of the final mature
RNA produced by that gene after
introns have been removed by
RNA splicing. The term
exon refers to both the DNA sequence within a gene and to the corresponding sequence in RNA transcripts. In RNA splicing, introns are removed and exons are covalently joined to one another as part of generating the mature
messenger RNA.
exon
Noun
1. sequence of a gene's DNA that transcribes into protein structures; "exons are interspersed with introns"
(synonym) coding DNA
(antonym) intron
(hypernym) deoxyribonucleic acid, desoxyribonucleic acid, DNA

About
Exon
A region of DNA in a gene that is transcribed ("read") into mature messenger RNA. An exon is the protein-coding part of a gene. As opposed to an intron.
Exon
The coding sequence of a eukaryotic gene (see also open reading frame).
