אתנול

אתנול (באנגלית: Ethanol) הוא תרכובת אורגנית ממשפחת הכוהלים, שנוסחתה C2H6O (מקובל גם בקיצור EtOH). זהו הכוהל הפשוט ביותר לאחר מתנול. האלכוהול הנמצא במשקאות חריפים הוא למעשה אתנול.

אתנול, חומר אורגני נוזלי שנוסחתו CH3CH2OH, ממשפחת הכהלים המונוהידריים הראשוניים. זהו הכוהל (אלכוהול) הנפוץ והידוע ביותר, ולכן יש שמכנים אותו "אלכוהול" או "כוהל" סתם. המקפידים יותר קוראים לו "כוהל אתילי".
האתנול הוא נוזל חסר צבע בעל ריח...

Ethanol , also commonly called ethyl alcohol, drinking alcohol, or simply alcohol is the principal type of alcohol found in alcoholic beverages, produced by the fermentation of sugars by yeasts. It is a neurotoxic  psychoactive drug and one of the oldest recreational drugs used by humans. It can cause alcohol intoxication when consumed in sufficient quantity.
