צ'נאי (בטאמילית: சென்னை; אנגלית: Chennai) אשר בעבר נודעה בשם מדרס, היא העיר הרביעית בגודלה בהודו ובירתה של מדינת טאמיל נאדו. העיר נמצאת בחוף קורומנדל, בקצה הדרום מזרחי של הודו, לחוף מפרץ בנגל. היא ידועה בחוף העירוני שלה, מרינה ביץ', מן החופים העירוניים הארוכים בעולם. העיר משמשת כמרכז כלכלי בדרום הודו ובולטים בה המגזרים הפיננסיים והתעשייתיים ובמיוחד תעשיית הרכב המרכזת כ-60% מפעילות תעשיית הרכב בהודו.
