באגדות המלך ארתור, סר לנסלוט דו לאק (לנסלוט מהאגם) הוא מאבירי השולחן העגול. ברוב היצירות והרומנסות הצרפתיות הוא מתואר כאביר הגדול והנאמן ביותר מבין אביריו של ארתור, ונוטל חלק ברבים מניצחונות ארתור - אך נפילתו הסופית של ארתור נגרמת, לפחות בחלקה, על ידי לנסלוט, שפרשת-האהבים שלו עם אשת ארתור - המלכה גוויניבר, פורמת את אחדות חצרו של ארתור.

לנסלוט הוא דמות אהובה מאוד, ונכתבו עליו פואמות, סיפורים, מחזות ותסריטים רבים מספור, כדמות מפורסמת במחזור הרומנסות על המלך ארתור. בעבור קוראי האנגלית, שמו של אף אביר מחצר המלך ארתור אינו מוכר כמו זה של לנסלוט דו-לאק. אזכור ארתור והשולחן העגול מיד מעלה למוחם את תמונתו של חבר האחווה ההיא שאין עז-רוח ממנו, מאהבה בסתר של המלכה. אף על פי כן, לנסלוט אינו נמנה עם חבריו המקוריים של מחזור המלך ארתור, ואופי התפתחות סיפורו מהווה עדיין סלע מחלוקת בין החוקרים.

על-פי האגדה, אביו של לנסלוט הוא המלך באן מבנואה, ואמו נקראת איליין; בנו של אביו מחוץ לנישואין הוא הקטור דה מאריס. המלך בורס הוא דודו, ודודניו הם סר בורס וסר ליונל. לו ולאיליין, בת מלך-הדייגים, נולד בן - גלהאד (בכמה מקורות גלהאד הוא גם שם-הטבילה של לנסלוט). ביתו הוא טירת ג'ויוס-גארד.
