טרחון (דג מאכל)

1. משפחת דגים מאזור החוף הפאסיפי הגדולה ביותר (מעל ל-50,000 זנים). דגי הרוק הם דלי שומן וניתן לחלקם לשני סוגים כלליים : מאורכים ומלאי גוף. בשרם של האחרונים (זנים לדוגמה :yellowtail, blue rockfish goldeneye) קשה יותר אולם בעל יותר טעם מהבשר הרך והעדין יותר של הזנים המאורכים : bocaccio, chilipepper and shortbelly.
לעיתים משווקים אותם כסנאפר פאסיפי אולם, למעשה, אין כל קרבה לרד סנאפר האטלנטי.
