The
Ukrainian Association of the Blind (Ukrainian
Українське товариство сліпих, or
UTOS - from the Ukrainian Cyrillic acronym УТОС) is a voluntary public
organization for the visually impaired, which operates in
Ukraine. The UTOS was founded on June 4, 1933, when the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of Ukraine decided to establish a Ukrainian Society for the Blind. By this time in Ukraine there were 12 local organizations of the visually impaired, bringing together more than 100 people. The Chairman of the Organizing Bureau was approved by Abram Moiseevich Edelman. Now various companies produce a UASB range of household goods and garden equipment from polymers, as well as low-voltage electrical products and equipment for production and engineering facilities.
