submersible
n.
submarine; small craft designed for underwater exploration
adj.
submergible, capable of being submersed
Submersible
A
submersible is a small
vehicle designed to operate underwater. The term submersible is often used to differentiate from other underwater vehicles known as
submarines, in that a submarine is a fully autonomous craft, capable of renewing its own power and breathing air, whereas a submersible is usually supported by a surface vessel, platform, shore team or sometimes a larger submarine. In common usage by the general public, however, the word submarine may be used to describe a craft that is by the technical definition actually a submersible. There are many types of submersibles, including both crewed and uncrewed craft, otherwise known as
remotely operated vehicles or ROVs. Submersibles have many uses worldwide, such as
oceanography,
underwater archaeology,
ocean exploration, adventure, equipment maintenance/recovery or
underwater videography.

arctic submersible rig
دکل حفاری قطبی که قابلیت فرو رفتن در آب در فصولی که یخ وجود ندارد یا کمتر است را دارد
A mobile Submersible Drilling Structure used in arctic areas.
The rig is moved onto the drilling site and submerged during periods when the water is free of ice.
All equipment below the waterline is surrounded by a caisson to protect it from damage by moving ice. The Drilling Deck has no square corners so that moving ice can better flow around it
bottle-type submersible rig
A mobile submersible drilling structure constructed of several steel cylinders, or bottles. When the bottles are flooded, the rig submerges and rests on bottom; when water is removed from the bottles, the rig floats. The latest designs of this type of rig drill in water depths up to 100 feet, or 30.5 meters
submersible drilling rig
An offshore drilling structure that has several compartments that are flooded to cause the structure to submerge and rest on the ocean floor. Of necessity, most submersible rigs are used only in shallow waters
