עבדות הוא מונח המציין משטר עבודה המאופיין בבעלות ושליטה רבה של אדם על אדם אחר שנחשב לרכושו. בעבדות האדם המשועבד איננו חופשי ובן חורין לקבוע את התנהלותו וסדר היום שלו, ואדונו הוא שקובע בעבורו את כל או רוב סגנון חייו ודרכי התנהלותו.
