אוליגוקלז הוא מינרל טקטוסיליקטי, סיליקטים במבנה מרחבי, השייך לקבוצת המינרלים הידועים בשם פלגיוקלז (סוג של פצלת השדה). מקור השם מיוונית "שבירה קטנה" – משום שזוויות הפצילות שונות מאוד מ- 90°.
