למונח תזונה כמה משמעויות. משמעות עיקרית אחת היא סך המזונות (והמשקאות) מהם ניזן האדם בפרק זמן נתון. משמעות עיקרית שנייה היא מדעי התזונה - תחום מדעי העוסק בקשר בין מאפייניו של משטר זה לבין בריאות וחולי. אדם המתמחה בחקר או בייעוץ טיפולי בתחום זה נקרא תזונאי.
