נטורופתיה היא שיטת ריפוי אלטרנטיבית. חסידיה מאמינים כי אפשר לרפא את האדם ולמנוע תחלואה על ידי עידוד מנגנוני הריפוי הטבעיים של הגוף ועיצוב דרך חיים בריאה יותר, בהתבסס על תזונה, צמחי מרפא, שמנים אתריים, פעילות גופנית ועוד. בנטורופתיה עושים שימוש בידע ממקורות שונים ובהם רפואה מסורתית, וטוענים לחשיבות גדולה לקשר שבין הגוף לנפש. נטורופתים רבים דוחים חלק גדול מהמדע המודרני ומההנדסה הביו-רפואית. בעולם הרפואי והמדעי חלוקים בנוגע למידת היעילות של השיטה.

המונח "נטורופתיה" מגיע מיוונית ומלטינית, ומשמעותו המילולית היא "מחלה טבעית". הנטורופתיה המודרנית התפתחה מ"תנועת הריפוי הטבעית" של אירופה. המושג נטבע ב-1895 על ידי John Scheel ונעשה פופולרי על ידי Benedict Lust, "אבי הנטורופתיה של ארצות הברית", אשר התחיל בסביבות 1970, שנים אשר בהן החלה התעניינות בארצות הברית ובקנדה יחד עם תנועות בריאות הוליסטיות. כיום משתמשים בנטורופתיה בעיקר בארצות הברית ובקנדה. יש שוני גדול בתחום אשר בו עוסק המקצוע בין רשויות שונות, ונטורופתים ברשויות לא מוסדרות יכולים להשתמש בכינוי "דוקטור לנטורופתיה" ובתארים אחרים ללא קשר לרמת הכשרתם.
