מלנכוליה (באנגלית: Melancholia) היא אחד המאפיינים של דיכאון מז'ורי (major depression). יש המגדירים אותה כהפרעת מצב רוח של דיכאון לא-ספציפי, בפני עצמה. תקופת הדיכאון היא מעל לשנתיים, והתפקוד השוטף של האדם נפגע באופן חמור. בשפה יום-יומית, משתמשים לעתים במילה מלנכוליה כמילה נרדפת לעצבות.
