ionization – מילון אנגלי-אנגלי
ionization (Amer.)
n.
process of separating or changing into ions; production of ions in a solution (also ionisation)
Ionization
Ionization is the process by which an
atom or a
molecule acquires a negative or positive charge by gaining or losing
electrons to form
ions, often in conjunction with other chemical changes. Ionization can result from the loss of an electron after collisions with sub atomic particles, collisions with other atoms, molecules and ions, or through the interaction with light.
Heterolytic bond cleavage and heterolytic
substitution reactions can result in the formation of ion pairs. Ionization can occur through radioactive decay by the
internal conversion process, in which an excited nucleus transfers its energy to one of the
inner-shell electrons causing it to be ejected.
ionization
Noun
1. the condition of being dissociated into ions (as by heat or radiation or chemical reaction or electrical discharge); "the ionization of a gas"
(synonym) ionisation
(hypernym) condition, status
(derivation) ionize, ionise
2. the process of ionizing; the formation of ions by separating atoms or molecules or radicals or by adding or subtracting electrons from atoms by strong electric fields in a gas
(synonym) ionisation
(hypernym) natural process, natural action, action, activity
(derivation) ionize, ionise
ionization
The process of producing ions by the removal of electrons from, or the addition of electrons to, atoms or molecules. 1/4/73
ionisation
Phénomène dans lequel un ion est produit par extraction ou addition d'électrons périphériques d'un atome. 1/4/73
ionic dissociation (ionize; ionization)
When ionic substances dissolve, their ions are surrounded by solvent molecules and separated from each other. This phenomena is also called ionization.
