האיאין

האיאין או האיאיניט הוא פלדשפטואיד (מינרל השייך לקבוצת המינרלים הטקטוסיליקטים - סיליקטים במבנה מרחבי, דמוי פצלת השדה אך בעל מבנה שונה והמכיל פחות סיליקה) החבר בקבוצת הסודליט והכולל סולפט וכלוריד. נוסחת ההאיאין היא Na,Ca)4-8Al6Si6(O,S)24(SO4,Cl)1-2). ההאיאין מתגבש במערכת הקובייתית כשהוא יוצר גבישים שקופים (בדרך כלל במבנה גבישים תאומים) בעלי ברק זגוגי וגוונים רבים (כחול, לבן, אפור, צהוב, ירוק, ורוד). קשיות המינרל נעה בין 5 ל-6 בסולם מוס ומשקלו הסגולי בין 2.4 ל-2.5 גרם לסמ"ק.

ההאיאין אותר לראשונה בשנת 1807 מדגימות שנלקחו מאזור הוזוב – מונט סומה באיטליה. המינרל נקרא על שמו של רנה ז'יסט אאיאי (1822-1743), מינרלוג צרפתי הנחשב אבי הקריסטלוגרפיה המודרנית. המינרל מתגבש בסלעי יסוד עניים בסיליקה כדוגמת הפונוליט במקומות רבים בעולם. לדוגמה: באיטליה - באזור הווזוב שבמחוז קמפניה, בהרי אלבן (Alban) שבמחוז לאציו וליד גרוסטו (Grosseto) שבטוסקנה, בגרמניה - במחוז הגעשי של הריין: איפל (Eifel) ולאכר זי (Laacher See). בארצות הברית, במדינות מונטנה וניו יורק, בסין ליד נאנג'ינג ובאי הקטן טאיארופו שבטהיטי.

Hauyne
Hauyne, haüyne or hauynite is a tectosilicate mineral with sulfate, with endmember formula Na3Ca(Si3Al3)O12(SO4). As much as 5 wt % K2O may be present, and also H2O and Cl. It is a feldspathoid and a member of the sodalite group. Hauyne was first described in 1807 from samples discovered in Vesuvian lavas in Monte Somma, Italy, and was named in 1807 by Brunn-Neergard for the French crystallographer René Just Haüy (1743–1822).
