Forefather is a
pagan metal band from
Surrey, England. There is debate on some sites as to which
subgenre or subgenres of metal the band belongs while the band itself describes its music as "Anglo-Saxon Metal" due to its
Anglo-Saxon themed lyrical content, and in likelihood as a more appropriate alternative for the "Viking Metal" term. Since their inception in 1997 the band has released six studio albums.
