אֶפּוֹנִים (eponym) הוא שם, אמיתי או בדוי, אשר על שמו נקרא מקום, עם, מושג, תגלית או כל דבר אחר. האפונים עשוי להיות רשמי, דוגמת יחידת מדידה הנקראת על שם המדען שהמציא אותה, או פופולרי ובלתי רשמי. באנגלית מודרנית, המילה "eponymous", מתייחסת לדבר הנקרא על שם תוכנו, דוגמת אלבום הנקרא על שם הלהקה שהוציאה אותו, או ספר הנקרא על שם גיבורו. לעתים האטימולוגיה הפופולרית של האפונים שגויה, דוגמת סלט קיסר המיוחס לפעמים ליוליוס קיסר בגלל שמו.
