התייבשות היא מצב של מחסור בנוזלים בגוף. שיעור נוזלים תקין חיוני לצורך הפעילות התקינה של המנגנונים השונים שבגוף. בבני אדם, שיעור הנוזלים התקין הוא 60% לגבר ו55% לאשה, ואצל תינוקות מגיע ל78%.
