ציפורן הוא תבלין העשוי מכפתורי פרחים מיובשים של עץ תבלין טרופי ירוק עד בשם אוגניית הציפורן (שם מדעי: Syzygium aromaticum) ממשפחת ההדסיים. שם נוסף לעץ הוא Eugenia aromatica. מוצאו של העץ הוא איי מלוקו, המכונים "איי התבלין", שבמזרח אינדונזיה. ארצות הייצור של התבלין הן זנזיבר שבטנזניה, מאוריציוס וארצות דרום מערב אסיה.
