(ש"ע) הל (צמח תבלין)

הל (קרוי גם קרדמון, שם מדעי: Elettaria cardamomum), הוא צמח תבלין ממשפחת הזנגביל, המשמש לתיבול קפה ותבשילים שונים. הוא מופיע בתערובות תבלינים שונות כגון גאראם מסאלה וחוויאג'. צמח הקרדמון הוא רב שנתי בעל עלים גדולים, ולמעשה ישנם שלושה צמחים שונים הקרויים הל: הל ירוק (מכונה גם 'הל אמיתי'), הל שחור, והל אפריקאי.

מקורו של ההל בדרום הודו ובסרי לנקה, והוא מגודל גם בדרום מזרח אסיה וגוואטמלה. הל היה אחד מהתבלינים בהם סחרו הנבטים.
