אקטינוליט הוא מינרל, חבר בקבוצת האמפיבול - קבוצה של אינוסיליקטים (סיליקטים במבנה דמוי שרשרות) מאפיים. האקטינוליט בנוי משרשרת כפולה שבה שתי שורות של ארבעונים של סיליקט (SiO₄) מתחברות אל שתי שורות אחרות דרך קטיונים של מגנזיום, ברזל או סידן. נוסחת המבנה הכימי של האקטינוליט היא: Ca₂(Mg,Fe)₅Si₈O₂₂(OH)₂.
