אורנוס הוא דמות במיתולוגיה היוונית המסמלת את השמים. על פי המיתולוגיה היוונית היה אורנוס השליט הראשון של היקום. כמו כן, אורנוס מסמל את היצירה והבריאה, שבעזרת חום השמש ומי הגשמים מפרים את האדמה (גאיה) ויוצרים חיים.
