The historical term Lands of the Crown of Saint Stephen was used to denote a group of territories connected to the Kingdom of Hungary within Austria-Hungary. This system of states is sometimes named Archiregnum Hungaricum ("High Kingdom of Hungary") using a medieval terminology. In Croatian-Hungarian Settlement of 1868, this territory was officially defined (art. 1) as "a state union of Kingdom of Hungary and Triune Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia." The Lands of the Crown of Saint Stephen disintegrated at the dissolution of Austria-Hungary.
