Stereoisomer – מילון אנגלי-אנגלי
stereoisomer
n.
one of two or more isomers whose molecular structures are identical but whose atomic arrangements differ (Chemistry)
Stereoisomerism
Stereoisomers are
isomeric molecules that have the same molecular formula and sequence of bonded atoms (constitution), but differ in the three-dimensional orientations of their atoms in space. This contrasts with
structural isomers, which share the same
molecular formula, but the bond connections or their order differs. By definition, molecules that are stereoisomers of each other represent the same structural isomer.
Stereoisomer (der)
nm.
stereoisomer, two or more isomers whose molecular structures are identical but atomic arrangements differ (Chemistry)
stereoisomer
Molecules with the same atoms and bond structure, but different three dimensional arrangements of atoms. For example, the CH3 groups in CH3CH=CHCH3 can be placed on the same side of the double bond in one stereoisomer and on opposite sides in another.
