SSRI (ראשי תיבות באנגלית: Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor; בעברית: מעכבי ספיגה חוזרת בררניים של סרוטונין) הוא שם כולל לקבוצה של תרופות נוגדות דיכאון, המבוססות על עיכוב ספיגה חוזרת של סרוטונין. המדובר בדור חדש של תרופות נוגדות דיכאון, אשר מגוון רב של תרופות מתבססות עליו. הידועות מבין תרופות אלו הן פלואוקסטין (Fluoxetine), הידועה בעיקר בשמה המסחרי פּרוֹזַק, ואסציטלופרם (Escitalopram), הידועה בעיקר בשמה המסחרי ציפּרָלֵקס. משפחת תרופות זו היא חלק מקבוצה גדולה יותר של חומרים המכונים "SRI", הכוללת גם את הטריציקליים.

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. A type of drug that is used to treat depression. SSRIs slow the process by which serotonin (a substance that nerves use to send messages to one another) is reused by nerve cells that make it. This increases the amount of serotonin available for stimulating other nerves.
