About
Memnon
[Greek heroic] The son of Tithonus and Eos. He came to the rescue of Troy when it was besieged by the Greeks, and brought with him an army of Ethiopians. During that battle he performed many heroic feats. He killed, among others, Antilochus, the son of Nestor. When he finally fell, mortally wounded by Achilles, Zeus granted him immortality because he was so moved by the tears of Eos.
