Eurypylus was the name of several different people. Of them the best known are two participants in the Trojan War: one (the son of Euaemon) on the side of the
Achaeans, and the other (the son of Telephus) on the side of the Trojans.
Eurypylus
[Greek heroic] A king of Thessaly, and one the heroes during the siege of Troy. The son of Telephus and Astyoche, ally of the Trojans. He was killed by Neoptolemus (Odyssey XI, 520). The son of Thestius. He was killed by Meleager during the hunt of the Calydonian boar because he had insulted Atalanta.
