The dharmachakra (IAST: ; Pali dhammacakka; "Wheel of the Dharma"), is one of the Ashtamangala of Indian religions such as HinduismJainism and Buddhism. It has represented the Buddhist dharmaGautama Buddha's teaching of the path to Nirvana, since the time of early Buddhism.

Dharmachakra, Dharmacakra (Sanskrit) [from dharma law + chakra wheel] The wheel of the law, or the range of the law. "The emblem of Buddhism as a system of cycles and rebirths or reincarnations" (TG 100), it also applies to the Buddha as the holder of the wheel of the law: he who sets a new cycle in motion and in consequence changes the course of destiny through his expounding of the teachings.
