דַּמֶּשֶׂק (בערבית: دمشق, דִמַשְׁק) היא בירתה של סוריה ואחת הערים העתיקות בעולם. העיר ממוקמת בדרום-מערב סוריה, מרחק לא רב מגבול ישראל, ירדן ולבנון. במדינות ערב ובסוריה עצמה קוראים לבירה הסורית גם בשם "א-שאם" (ערבית: الشام), כיוון שבאופן מסורתי הייתה בירת אזור ההשפעה ששמו בילאד א-שאם.

The city has an estimated population of 1,711,000 as of 2009.
