Callirhoe
Callirhoe is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. Its nine species are commonly known as poppy mallows and all are native to the prairies and grasslands of North America. Of the nine, some are annuals while others are perennial plants.

Callirhoé
Callirhoé is an opera by the French composer André Cardinal Destouches. It takes the form of a tragédie en musique in a prologue and five acts. The libretto, by Pierre-Charles Roy, is based on a story from The Description of Greece by Pausanias (see Coresus). The opera was first performed on December 27, 1712, by the Académie royale de musique at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal in Paris. Destouches reworked the score for a revival on 22 October, 1743. This version ends abruptly with the death of Corésus.

Callirrhoe (naiad)
In Greek mythology, Callirrhoe or Callirhoe (Ancient Greek: Καλλιρρόη, meaning "Beautiful Flow," often written Callirrhoë) was a naiad. She was the daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. She had three husbands, ChrysaorNeilus and Poseidon. She was one of the three ancestors of the Tyrians, along with Abarbarea and Drosera. Jupiter's moon Callirrhoe is named after her.

The god then threatened to inflict all the women of Calydon with madness. An oracle ordered the priest to sacrifice Callirhoë, but in desperation the man killed himself. The girl threw herself in a well, which from that moment on carried her name.
