קנאביס

קנאביס (שם מדעי: Cannabis) הוא סוג של צמח ממשפחת הקנאביים, אשר כוללת 2 סוגים, בהם כשותנית וקנאביס. הקנאביס הוא המפורסם שבהם, והוא כולל 3 זנים עיקריים: קנאביס סאטיבה (Cannabis sativa sativa), קנאביס אינדיקה (Cannabis sativa indica) וקנאביס רודראליס (Cannabis sativa ruderalis). קנאביס שימש משחר ההיסטוריה לייצור סיבים (המפ), שמן זרעים, למטרות רפואיות וכחומר פסיכואקטיבי. לזרעי צמח הקנאביס אין השפעה שעשועית והם מזינים ועשירים בחלבון ונצרכים כמזון ובפרט מופק מהם שמן המפ.

בצמח הקנאביס זוהו 3 משפחות כימיות עיקריות של חומרים: טרפנואידים, פלבנואידים וקנאבינואידים. כ-80 קנאבינואידים ידועים קיימים בצמח, שהעיקריים שבהם הם החומרים הפסיכואקטיביים THC וCBD.

Cannabis, also known as marijuana and by numerous other names, is a preparation of the Cannabis plant intended for use as a psychoactive drug or medicine. The main psychoactive part of cannabis is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC); it is one of 483 known compounds in the plant, including at least 84 other cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol (CBD), cannabinol (CBN), and tetrahydrocannabivarin (THCV).
