The subphylum Chelicerata ( or ; New Latin, from French chélicère, from Greek khele "claw, chela" and kéras "horn") constitutes one of the major subdivisions of the phylum Arthropoda. It contains the horseshoe crabs, sea spiders, and arachnids (including scorpions and spiders).
