משחק הוא עבודתו של השחקן - הופעה בתיאטרון, בקולנוע או בטלוויזיה. השחקן מגלם דמות במחזה או בתסריט, אומר את הטקסט ששם המחזאי או התסריטאי בפיה של דמות זו, ופועל לפי הוראות הבמאי. משחק ללא טקסט נקרא אלתור.
שני המרכיבים החשובים ביותר של המשחק הם הקול (
דיבור) ושפת הגוף, ולעתים הוא כולל בתוכו גם שירה וריקוד.

משחק נלמד, בתאוריה ובפרקטיקה, בבתי ספר למשחק, וכן במסגרת החוג לתיאטרון באוניברסיטאות.
